Rotary Switch
About
With the help of a rotor, spoke and multiple terminals, rotary switches are available to connect two or more electrical circuits. They deliver greater make – break throw capabilities, making them ideal for main on/off switch of electrical panels of different types of machineries and other telecommunication equipment.
Some of the types of rotary switches based on number of connections (polarity) are:
- Miniature rotary switch.
- 2 pole rotary coded switch.
- 4 pole rotary coded switch.
- 4 position rotary switch.
- Single Pole Rotary Switches.
- Double Pole Rotary Switches.
Other Ways to Differentiate Rotary Switch:
- ROTARY CAM SWITCH ( 6 – 20A, 25-32A, 40A, 63A : 440 VAC)
- ROTARY KNIFE SWITCH (10A : 220 VAC )
- ROTARY TYPE AUXILLIARY SWITCH (7.5A : 264VDC)
Applicable Directive
LOW VOLTAGE DIRECTIVE – 2014/35/EU
Why Low Voltage Directive Applied?
The LVD covers health and safety risks on electrical equipment operating with an input or output voltage of between 50V and 1000 V for A.C. and 75V and 1500 V for D.C.
It applies to a wide range of electrical equipment for both consumer and professional usage, such as:
- Household appliances
- Cables
- Power supply units
- Laser equipment
To place product in European Market, product must ensure health and safety requirements as per EU legislation process.
Applicable Harmonized Standard
EN 60947-3:2009+A1:2012: Low-Voltage Switchgear and Control Gear – Part 3: Switches, Disconnectors, Switch-Disconnectors and Fuse-Combination units.
